    Founder and Coach, Joshua Holiday started Rough House Wrestling in 2013 as an after school program at Calvary Chapel Academy in Yorba Linda. With twin boys coming in to elementary age, Coach Holiday wanted to design a kids program centered around youth ages from preschool through 8th grade.

    At the end of 2017, Coach Holiday brought on Coach Sal Garcia to take over as head coach and oversee the after school program. But by 2019, Rough House opened its doors to the public welcoming kids outside of Calvary Chapel Academy and made Rough House an official wrestling club. In the last few years, Rough House has accumulated multiple individuals who have achieved Individual State and Individual National Championships, along with winning tournaments and multiple California State Championships as a team. The club travels up and down the State and Country as a team and with individuals that seek out the best competition in the United States. 

RHWC is still a growing and respected club among its peers and competitors nation-wide. As time has passed, many youth-age Rough House wrestlers have started to enter High School competing at State/National level tournaments in the 15u, 17u and Cadet/Junior divisions.

    Rough House has and always will start with the fundamentals, concepts, and basic techniques, while drilling those basics into muscle memory of the young wrestler’s arsenal. Not only does RHWC stick to the fundamentals, but also moves on into more advanced techniques by the time their wrestlers are heading into high school, plus creating habits and a great avenue for their athletes to have opportunities and make their way into the NCAA/College competition level.
